Mr.
Vernon,
I just completed
reading your P4K playbook and had a question.
I really like the Basic
Strategy and plan to implement it on my next casino visit. Have you ever tried
to follow the trend (FTT) in such a way as to simply bet the previous
outcome (Passline if the point was made or Don't Pass if sevened out)?
Thanks, Glenn
Hi Glenn,
No, not in the sense
that you describe here and I have seen this play.
I suppose the way I
approach the game is following a trend, in the sense that I position
myself in a game based on how I perceive the game is going. In other
words, if my plan is to play the don’t pass, I look for losers. If my plan
is for the pass line, I look for winners. Energy, the metaphysical aspect
is evident and all around us. Sure I have played games that did
not end up a winner, and at the same time, I can say most of the games I
have ever played resulted in profit… I simply played too long and did not
leave the game with the money. Playing 4 Keeps is not just a slogan, but
really how a serious player needs to play all the time. Recognizing that
winning a profit is not suppose to happen, according to the odds, and a
savvy player should be happy with any profit.
The idea behind the plays
that I describe in my playbook for either pass or don’t pass is about following
a trend and modestly progresses each winning bet.
I see where you are
going with your question and it could be interesting for you to pursue it.
Following the “energy”
in a game, for me, is like having my thumb on the pulse of the game. When
the pulse goes weak, I am out of the game. I am not one to pretend to be
so clever as to catch fish out of both sides of the boat. If I win on the
do side, I am totally happy to color up just ahead of the cold wind. On
the other hand… it is not often that I miss-read and pick a table only to
find that it is cold and going the other way. When that happens I can
switch over and play the don’t pass. The don’t pass is usually a much
shorter game. Simply stated, you can only pick up the eggs as long as
there are pigeons rolling cold hands.
I do not know what
other players think about the game for sure, however, my years of playing
seem to tell me that many players forget that the house advantage is a
given fact, and that it is designed to separate the player from his money. It
is not easy to win! It is never wrong to take a profit.
The dice do not always
adhere to probability. In short busts the dice will favor the player, no
matter how he is betting. The trick is to figure out the direction of a
game before hand with a “knowing” of what is about to happen before it
happens and be there to collect. Sounds like hooey, huh? But not
complicated really and everyone can do it. In fact I know you have on
numerous occasions had a knowing of what was to happen way before it
manifested in this reality. Have you ever said, “I knew that was going to happen!”
Anyway Glen, your idea
is interesting and I have had a couple of students, that came to the same
awareness as you. What they reported was the sessions had to be fairly
short, in and out. The tendency is for the game to stay balanced and when
you run into “chop dice” the game becomes win one, lose one, push.
Practice the basic
strategy at home before using it in the casino. You need to see it
working, and more importantly, learn to recognize when it isn’t working.
At the casino, play on
paper with your idea of trending and after a few hours of research you
should have some idea if you are on to something. Then try with money
invested to see if you are correct.
My way is not the only
way. My way is to provide serious players with a solid foundation that
helps them to hold on to their money longer, providing time in the game,
providing information with reasons to play or walk away. On top of that, I
am thrilled when someone, such as you, comes along with a better mouse
trap. That is my goal. My intention is to help those with a desire of
winning to develop their own best way to play. You see, I have the way I
like to play. My friends have their way. It is not about being right al
the time. It is about winning all the time.
Good luck and let me
know what you find out.
See you at the tables,
Michael Vernon
